Take what you need, leave what you don’t

It makes no difference to me if it’s plastic or gold
It’s just a house full of things that are soulless and cold
The most valuable thing in this place is long lost;
Two hearts on a string, tied up twisted and tossed

Love and fires both start with an innocent spark
And if fed properly, both will surely consume everything
Those pictures on the wall of a life that we were building once,
They’re now fuel for the fire where we kept warm through the chilly months
Little did we know that a completely different cold would be the death of us

I’m tearing down those frames full of memories
And versions of a you and me, we thought we’d always be
All I’m building now is flames on an effigy
That's burning for the you and me we thought we’d always be
I’m not as strong as I thought I was.
Yeah, I guess that makes two of us

If every photograph is worth a thousand little lies
Which one are you telling yourself tonight?
That it was good, that it was worth it, Love will see through any fight?
That everything is gonna be alright?
That we had it under control?
That I had it under control?
That I have it under control?
I thought I had it under control..
